Perverted Justice

Passage: Micah 3:1-12

Series: Justice and Mercy: The Revelation of God Through the Prophet Micah

Summary:

: Micah begins his second discourse of judgment, this time on rulers and false prophets. He specifically calls out their perverted form of justice. He compares the rulers and judges to cannibals because the they are taking advantage of the people under their care. He speaks judgement on the prophets who are preaching peace but were more concerned with their own well-being than speaking the truth of the coming judgement for sin. In this we see that the Lord turns them over to the fruits of their leadership and calls us to live as people filled with the Spirit. We are not to be people who say one and do another.
