Hearts in Exile

Hearts in Exile

Passage: 1 Kings 2:1-4

Preacher: David Dixon

Series: The Broken Thone (Kings)

Summary:

What good is history if you can't learn from it? In the Broken Throne, we will be studying the books of 1 and 2 Kings. They are a both a historical and spiritual narrative for the people of Israel while they were in exile in Babylon. They are looking back and wondering what happened to their once great nation. As they look back, they will witness the power, justice, mercy, and faithfulness of God and look forward to the coming of Jesus.

Detail:

In our opening sermon of the Broken Throne, we hear the final words of King David to his son, Solomon, echo across this book and into our lives. David challenged Solomon to make a choice to worship God all of his life.

Everyday we get up and choose what we will worship. It the fundamental choice we make each day. And each choice shapes the future.
