Dear Iron Mill Church Family
Last night we met as an Elder board and came to the decision to extend our church closure
through the end of January. Our plan is to reopen for in-person services beginning Sunday
Feb 7th.
The Corona virus numbers in the state and surrounding counties continue to be high and
Geisinger hospital in Danville is currently at 125% capacity and they are predicting a 20%
increase over the next two weeks.
As an elder board we feel it is wise to remain closed in order to protect our church body and
to contribute to the health of the community God has called us to serve: Danville.
We will continue to stream our services at 9:00 am on Sunday mornings and post it to our
website. Let’s thank Andy Stamey and Josh Drake for working hard to make that possible.
As we navigate this short season of gathering online we would like to direct you to
1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 “pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this
is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
PRAY - Pray for our town, community and hospital that the number of corona virus cases will
decrease and that all our essential workers and healthcare staff will be protected. Pray for
our online services that they will have impact and reach those who would not normally walk
into a church building.
GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES - Notice it does not say “in some circumstances”.
How can you give thanks and praise God even as we navigate a season that is not
necessarily desirable?
